We are happy to announce the call for musicians, dancers, visual artists, designers, engineers, and other creators and performers to apply for participation in AH’s Music Elevator program. 

This project is a response to the challenges artists are facing due to the Covid-19 pandemic. 

Together with the U.S. Embassy in Kyiv and American jazz pianist and composer, Emmet Cohen, we designed a program that will boost artists’ entrepreneurship skills and approaches to cultivating creativity. Selected participants of the program will go through the mentorship and workshops on: 

• improvisation as a creative exercise;

• methods of cultivating creativity;

• performance and technical challenges for online engagements;

• marketing and audience engagement;

• monetization.

A big focus in each of those sessions will be on uplifting and gathering audiences during the time of social distancing. At the end of the program, together with Emmet Cohen participants will present the final collaborative project for a virtual audience worldwide

Проєкт є своєрідною відповіддю на виклики, з якими стикаються креативні індустрії під час пандемії Covid-19.

Разом з Посольством США в Києві та американським джазовим піаністом і композитором Емметом Коеном ми розробили програму, яка сприятиме опануванню підприємницьких навичок та розвитку творчих здібностей. Відібрані учасники отримають менторське наставництво та відвідають онлайн-сесії, що присвячені:

• імпровізації як творчій вправі; 

• методам розвитку творчості; 

• перфомансу та технічним викликам онлайн-взаємодії; 

• маркетингу та залученню аудиторії; 

• монетизації. 

Під час кожної сесії ми приділятимемо багато уваги питанню натхнення та залучення аудиторії у часи соціальної ізоляції. Наприкінці програми учасники разом з Емметом Коеном представлять фінальний онлайн-проєкт для глядачів зі всього світу.

Program lead and key mentor:

Emmet Cohen is a multifaceted American jazz pianist and composer and is one of his generation's pivotal artistic figures. Emmet is the leader of the "Emmet Cohen Trio," and he presents jazz performance lectures through the YoungArts Foundation and Lincoln Center's "Jazz for Young People" program. He is the winner of the 2019 American Pianists Awards, the Cole Porter Fellow of the American Pianists Association, and an Artist-in-Residence at the University of Indianapolis. 

During the recent quarantine era, Emmet discovered the power in creating an online community, virtually inviting people into his living room for a free, weekly concert entitled, “Live From Emmet's Place.” The concerts have been airing for almost a half year, and have exceeded more than one million total views. Emmet is excited to share his experience and knowledge and looks forward to helping attendees advance their respective creative careers!

Він є лідером гурту "Emmet Cohen Trio" та має досвід проведення лекцій із джазового мистецтва в рамках програми "Jazz for Young People" у співпраці з Лінкольн-центром та YoungArts Foundation. Еммет — переможець премії American Pianists Awards, найпрестижнішої премії в світі серед піаністів, а також стипендіат програми імені Кола Портера від Асоціації американських піаністів.

Під час карантину Еммет зумів залишитися активним віртуально. Він перетворив свою кімнату на концертний майданчик та зібрав майже 73 тисячі слухачів на святковому онлайн-концерті до свого дня народження.

Please note that sessions will be happening on September 10, 15, 17, 22 and the final collaborative performance on September 29th. Each session will start at 7pm and will last up to two hours.
