Call for mentees

Want to find the way to achieve your professional goals? If you think a mentor can help you in this aspiration, join the MAP It program - an innovative, outcome-based mentoring program developed at America House in collaboration with Executive Business Coach Rania Anderson.   

With the successful completion of two editions, we are announcing the third run of America House Mentoring Action Plan Program – MAP it.  This time MAP it! 2021 will be conducted virtually for your safety and convenience. 

Reasons to apply: 

  • Join a professional network of young emerging leaders and established experts from Ukraine and other countries; 

  • Uncover your professional strengths, and useful development opportunities; 

  • Develop your personal practical toolkit – Mentoring Action Plan (MAP); 

  • Advance your professional skills.  

Mentorship relationships can be important levers to build competencies, confidence, and leadership in both mentors and mentees. Our mentors are qualified professionals working as managers, directors and specialists of Ukrainian and international NGOs (International Republican Institute; IREX; EuroBalkan Youth Forum; International Centre for Peace, Human Rights and Development in Africa; CANactions; Artefact art-project; EdCamp Ukraine), businesses (I+J, Pryvit Media Production, SPREAD, Happy Monday), as well as diplomats and experienced international relations specialists from the U.S. Embassy Kyiv.

  Apply if you:  

  • have a particular professional goal to achieve;   

  • have 1 to 4 years of working experience;   

  • need a mentor and understand how they can help you achieve your goal;   

  • speak good English; 

  • are able to commit to attend every session and implement your Mentoring Action Plan (MAP).   

Application deadline: February 7.

The participation is free of charge. The working language of the program will be English.  

Only complete applications will be considered. Please use your Google account to access the application form. 

All applicants will be informed of the selection results by February 15. If you are selected, the first session will be on February 18th, 7 pm (EEST.)

MAP it! - an innovative and outcome-based mentoring program developed for exclusive offering by America House in conjunction with Executive Business Coach Rania Anderson. It is structured to provide multiple, unique types of mentoring interactions designed to advance both mentees and mentors and to build strong ties among a diverse group.

The program is for those of you who are willing to grow in the following areas:

  • Anti-corruption and local government reform;  

  • Architecture and urban studies;  

  • Arts & Culture, art curation; 

  • Education, research and teaching development; 

  • Organizational design, development, management and consulting;  

  • NGO management & community building; 

  • Empowering youth, women, and civil society;  

  • Entrepreneurship and economic development;  

  • Foreign Service & international relations; 

  • Media & video production, journalism, SMM training and development;  

  • Science and Technology;

  • Virtual reality (VR), AR, MR.

 Following social distancing practices due to the COVID-19 pandemic, MAP it! America House Professional Mentoring Program 2021 will be conducted virtually!    

The program timeline is February 2021 – July 2021. As a participant you will be matched with a mentor who fits your expertise and goals and join 6 monthly meetings:  

  • February 18th - “Career or Business”, key points: navigating goals and strategies, planning growth, and achieving results;   

  • March 18th - “Style or Presence”, key points: communicating effectively, leading, influencing key people, and personal marketing myself;   

  • April 15th - “Network”, key points: building a network, mentors and sponsors, and maintaining relationships;     

  • May 20th - “Craft”, key points: functional/technical skills, business acumen, innovating and achieving excellence, and achieving mastery;  

  • June 17th - “Life”, key points: integrating work into life, managing life changes and transitions, and dealing with competing demands;   

  • July 15th - “Community/Contributions”, key points: developing awareness, getting involved, mentoring others, making a contribution, and sustaining commitment.  

The program structure is designed by Rania Anderson, global expert on the practical actions that men and women can take to accelerate their success. She has extensive experience of professional growth consulting in Ukraine and other developing countries. She is also the author of the books “WE: Men, Women, and The Decisive Formula for Winning at Work” and “UNDETERRED: The Six Success Habits of Women in Emerging Economies”.
