Analysis of existing spaceports in the world and assessment of potential sites for launching, including sea and air launches is important for proper monitoring of their impact on the environment.

Mining resources in space greatly helps establish a sustained human presence at the Moon, as well as poses new challenges as more sophisticated technologies are necessary to have efficient working space mining practices.
Some areas of spaceports that have active launch operations have an ongoing sustainability concern with the environmental impact of the spaceports and launch sites still not fully known and controlled.
