American folk and blues: The role of music in freedom of express

Are you curious about why American music sounds the way it does? Join Jake Dickson to learn about the importance of the music of the common American and how it is used to communicate important attitudes and experiences. He will also go over basic song structure and finish with a few American sing-a-long songs.

About Jake:

Jake Dickson comes from a family that loves music. From an early age, he developed a love for bluegrass and rock music and played with a variety of bands. After learning the violin, he learned to play the mandolin, guitar, and banjo. In college, he led the university folk music band for three semesters and graduated with a minor in folk music/audio production. Music is not his current profession but he still loves to play and share with his friends.
