Rising authoritarianism, militarism, and ecological decline - in the face of developing trends, what does it mean to be free?

America House Kyiv is launching Camp Liberty 2.0 — a virtual exchange program bringing together participants from Ukraine, the U.S.A., and the European Union to explore the role of freedom in the lives of individuals and modern societies.

Together with a diverse cohort and experts in the fields of foreign policy and international relations, program participants will contemplate transnational and cross-cultural visions of what liberty might look like in the 21st century. Are you eager to learn more and share your own perspectives on freedom today and tomorrow?

Over the course of two weeks, expand your network and your horizons by:

Engaging in discussions with invited speakers and participating in group and one-on-one virtual exchanges.
Networking with curious thinkers, students, researchers, activists and emerging leaders from the United States of America, Ukraine, and the European Union with diverse backgrounds.
Hearing fresh perspectives and views on contemporary issues and common futures in the context of individual freedoms and global development.
Exchanging cultures and getting viewpoints different from your own, diving into common challenges and hot topics.

The camp will be made up of the following activities:

August 22, 7:00 – 8:30 PM (GMT +3) | Program opening: “Shifting Borders & the Pursuit of 21st Century Freedom.” Virtual general & Group discussion with invited speaker.
August 22 – September 5 | Virtual working group sessions with counterparts from Ukraine, the U.S.A. and the European Union. In-depth experience exchange.
September 5, 7:00 – 8:30 PM (GMT +3) “Integration / Demarcation. Rights & Values in Times of Globalization.” Virtual Bonfire Night. General and group discussion with invited speaker.

The commitment would be 3 sessions, 2 general and 1 closed group session, each approximately 1-1.5 hours. No more than 4 hours over two weeks.

To participate in the program, please register by submitting the registration form by 11:59 PM Kyiv time (GMT+3), Thursday, August 18. No preparation is required, discussion topics will be provided. Participation in the program is free of charge. The working language of the program will be English. Applications are open globally with preference given to participants from Ukraine, the U.S.A. and the European Union.

Почути різні думки про сучасні проблеми та спільне майбутнє в контексті особистісної свободи та глобального розвитку.
Поділитися своєю культурою, познайомитися з альтернативними точками зору та зануритись у спільні виклики та актуальні теми.

Програма кемпу:

22 серпня, 19:00 – 20:30 (GMT+3) | Відкриття програми: «Зміщення кордонів і прагнення до свободи 21 століття». Групова онлайн-дискусія між учасниками програми та запрошеним експертом.
22 серпня – 5 вересня | Поглиблені дискусії між учасниками з України, США та країн ЄС у менших групах.
5 вересня, 19:00 – 20:30 (GMT+3) | «Інтеграція/Демаркація. Права та цінності в часи глобалізації». Віртуальна ніч біля вогнища. Групова онлайн-дискусія між учасниками програми та запрошеним експертом.

Camp Liberty 2.0 складатиметься з 3 сесій: 2 загальних і 1 закритої групової, близько 1-1,5 години кожна. Не більше 4 годин упродовж двох тижнів.

Щоб взяти участь у програмі, подай заявку до четверга, 18 серпня, 23:59 за київським часом (GMT+3). Не потрібно жодної підготовки, теми для обговорення будуть надані. Участь у програмі безкоштовна. Мова спілкування — англійська. Ми приймаємо заявки від учасників з усього світу, з пріоритетом на аплікантів з України, США та Європейського Союзу.
